How long will it take to get my username and password?

It can take 24-48 hours during weekdays and up to 72 hours for orders placed on the weekend and holidays. You will receive an email with your login information. If this email is not received within 72 hours, first check your spam emails and then contact customer service.



How can I cancel my HCD Monthly Subscription?

Canceling can be done at any time two ways: by email to hcdcustomerservice@hcdonline.com - please include your first name, last name, and login information; also, by phone, to HCD Customer Service at 800-815-0503. If you leave a message please also send a follow up email to ensure your cancellation is received.



How can I search by category and not by only company or person name?

Once logged in, click on the blue "Advanced Search" button. This will take you to a page that has a "Company Type" drop down menu. In this menu are all of the categories found in each directory. There are also additional search options depending on the category chosen.



Can I change my username and password or billing information online?

To change your login or billing information, please contact HCD Customer Service. Account and login information is not currently available online. Contact us by phone: 800-815-0503 or by email: hcdcustomerservice@hcdonline.com.



Can I download the database into an excel spreadsheet or mailing list?

The database is not downloadable or exportable. We do however offer mailing lists for each directory sold separately. For more information on these, please view product list in the Store.



Can I print out or copy and paste listings for my own personal use?

Listings can be printed one at a time or copy and pasted into your own files. The database is unable to be printed in a full layout such as in the book.



How many email addresses are listed in the HCD Online Database?

Each company listed has the opportunity to list at least a contact email address. Not every company chooses to do so and it is not required to be listed. On average, roughly half of the companies will list at least a general email address.



When ordering an online subscription, why must I select a shipping method?

Due to website defaults, all options and fields must be completed for your order to process. You will not have anything shipped to you or be charged a shipping fee, please note the zero dollar amount next to each shipping option. If you still have trouble, please contact HCD Customer Service at 800-815-0503.



Can I pick up my directory from the office location?

All of our books are shipped from our warehouse and are not available for pickup at our office. For possible store locations in your area, please contact HCD Customer Service by phone or email.



How Do I Order Online?

While shopping you have the option of browsing around the store or going directly to the specific product you wish to purchase. The entire HCD store is divided into convenient categories such as Books, Online Data, and Mailing Lists. You can browse these categories using the links on the left side of your Browser Window. Selecting a category leads you to sub-categories and then to specific Products with pricing. Our store uses an electronic "Shopping Basket" that works just like the real thing. When you find something you like, just click on "Add to Basket" and that item will be reserved for later purchase.

You're free to change your mind, removing or adding things to the Basket as you shop. Just click on "Basket" at any time to view the contents. When you're done shopping and ready to make a purchase, click on "Check Out" in the upper right hand corner. There will be a short delay as you're switched over to the Secure Server where your information is handled with complete privacy. You'll then be shown the contents of your Shopping Basket and asked for billing and shipping information. Once your order is processed, you will receive a confirmation that contains a copy of your order. You may retain this for your records as a receipt of purchase.


Payment Options

We accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and American Express only) checks and money orders drawn in U.S. funds in a U.S. bank. Checks must include inscribed name, current address and phone number, and have a valid nine-digit routing number encoded on the bottom of the check. Please keep in mind that checks may take longer to process than credit card orders.

Hollywood Creative Directory has purchased a Secure Certificate to facilitate and guarantee the security of credit card transactions conducted at this Web Site. Any purchase you make is billed by the Hollywood Creative Directory, and hcdonline.com, which utilizes the best encryption technology available on the Internet to protect your information while in transit.


Sales Tax

Sales Tax is charged for all orders within California. Rates are based on the current local tax rate of the shipping address. Sales Tax applies to the total price (including shipping) of the order.


Is It Safe To Use My Credit Card Over The Internet?

Experts agree that it is safer to use your credit card on the Internet than it is to use it in a restaurant or store. With any credit card transaction, your liability should your card be used without your permission is usually limited to $50, but may vary depending on your individual credit provider (see your credit agreement with your credit card company for more information).

That's good news. Nonetheless, we take precautions to protect the integrity of your personal information. We are as concerned about security and privacy as you are. We are happy to report that millions of secure credit card transactions are conducted on the Internet every day.

We use Secure Servers with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) transmission. This enables us to encrypt any data sent to our Web Server, and in turn our Server will encrypt any data sent back to your Web Browser. This means you can safely enter your entire credit card number when prompted by our online purchasing system and it cannot be read in transit.

To check the security of your connection, look at the lower left-hand corner of your Browser Window after accessing the Server. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending upon your Browser), then SSL is active. You can also double-check by looking at the URL line of your Browser. When accessing a Secure Server, the first characters of the Site address will change from "http" to "https." Some versions of Browsers and some Firewalls don't permit communication through Secure Servers. In that case, you'll be unable to connect to the Server so you won't have to worry about mistakenly placing an order through an unsecured connection.


United States Shipping Policy

All orders are shipped via FedEx Ground unless specified for 2-day Shipping. We cannot send orders to P.O. Boxes, please indicate a physical address. The current US Domestic shipping rate is $6.95 per item shipped and included in the total purchase price.


International Shipping Charges

Shipping is available worldwide unless prohibited by your local jurisdiction. The current international shipping rate is $39.95 US per item. This is subject to change at any time. Canada has a flat rate of $15.95 per item.


Shipping Of Products

All orders are shipped the next business day to the best of our ability. All U.S. orders (including Hawaii and Alaska) are shipped via FedEx. Canadian orders are also shipped via FedEx. International orders are shipped via USPS. Allow 1-2 weeks for deliveries to Canada and 4-6 weeks for delivery of International orders.


Backordered And Out Of Stock Items

Backordered Merchandise includes items that are not currently in stock, such as new books advertised previous to publishing date. If your order contains both in stock and out of stock items, we will ship the Merchandise that is in stock first, and when we receive the backordered or out of stock items, we notify you via email.


What To Do If Your Order Doesn't Arrive

Hollywood Creative Directory has been doing reliable business on the Internet for many years. We take pride in serving our customers in a timely manner and treating you with honesty and respect. However, here is a list of things to do in the rare instance that you do not receive your order.

1. If you're going to send us a letter, include your name, address, telephone, email and your order number so that we can correspond with you. Or send an email to hcdcustomerservice@hcdonline.com .

2. If you placed your order by check, we still have to wait for your check to clear (7 days) before shipping.

3. Sometimes the post office is just slow. Give them a couple of days.

4. If the above does not work, please contact us by phone at 323-525-2341 / 800-815-0503.


Defective Merchandise:

Defective merchandise will be exchanged for the same item when the defective merchandise is returned within the first 30 days of purchase. An explanation of the nature of the defect must be included with the returned merchandise.


Return Policy:

No refunds or exchanges on any products.

Early cancellation of the yearly HCD Online Database Subscription will result in a $25.00 cancellation fee.

There is no cancellation fee to cancel a HCD Monthly Subscription.


FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: Do you accept other forms of payment?

A: Yes. We accept checks and money orders, for orders received via fax or phone.

Q: I noticed that when I do my final check out the credit card number box is not encrypted, does this mean that my information is not secure?

A: No. You are on a 100% secure server. You will notice that the lock at the bottom of your browser is closed and highlighted. This means you are on a secure server.

Q: I am in a country outside of North America, what type of currencies do you accept?

A: For your convenience, and ours, all shopping cart items are in U.S. funds only.

Q: I am looking for a specific product, but could not find it in your Web Site. Would you have it in stock?

A: We carry our own line of products, if you do not see the product you are looking for, please email us the product name and/or number and we will be happy to search for the product you are looking for. Use the above email address.

Q: I notice when I try to search for an item in your Web Site it states no items found.

A: Our search program is actually very easy. We suggest that rather than a long specific search string, you simply type the one word that indicates your needs. For example, type "television" rather than "television stations" or "television companies".

Avoid entering an apostrophe in a search term. Because of the potential threat of hacking, we must strip out apostrophes from search queries. If a name has an apostrophe, don't include it. For example, to find A Snowball's Chance, search for Snowball or Snowballs Chance.

Also please note that our database is not available every night at 12:15am. At that time, it is receiving the latest updates and it may return the 'no items found' message. The updates are usually finished within a few minutes. If, however, you are using very simple general search terms, and it is not 12:15am, please let our
customer service department know that you are unable to access the online directories, and we will look into the problem.

Q: I noticed on the Order Page that the drop down menu for State/Province was missing my state. Do I put it in the "Other" column?

A: Yes. Please put your State or Region in this column.

Q: How long will it take for me to receive my order?

A: Within North America please allow up to 10 business days for FedEx Ground delivery and 2 business days for FedEx 2-Day shipping. International orders please allow 6-8 weeks. If you require any more information please email us at hcdcustomerservice@hcdonline.com .
